Studio Policies 2022-2023

Lessons

In-Person Lessons
  • MASKS: Currently the studio is requiring vaccination to remove masks. We also support any individual’s continued use of masks regardless of vaccination status, and encourage use by anyone who feels vulnerable. For voice students, if you desire, you may remove the masks while you sing with social distancing.
  • I ask that students stay home if feeling sick or experiencing COVID-like symptoms.
  • All students are required to wash their hands with soap and water and/or use hand sanitizer provided by the studio before lessons.
  • Students should remove and leave shoes at the front. I recommend wearing socks.
  • Students are expected to arrive for lessons on time with all their materials and music.
  • Parents may drop-off/pick-up only. Family members are not permitted inside the studio.
  • For legal and safety reasons, parents must drop off and pick up children within 5 minutes of lesson start and end times.

Online (zoom) Lessons
Students
  • ONLINE lessons will take place via Zoom. Students should have a camera/device set up prior to the scheduled lesson time.
  • Need an extra camera/device (cellphone, iPad or PC) during the online lesson. Students will play with the Piano Adventures Player Mobile App/sing with my YouTube videos during the lesson.

Piano (piano students)

  • An acoustic PIANO in the best possible condition, tuned yearly, is required.
  • An acoustic piano is absolutely required for student who plan to audition at the school of the arts.
  • Electric pianos are acceptable provided they come equipped with 88 weighted keys and sustained 3 pedals. I don’t recommend a portable digital keyboard. I am available to assist you to locate a suitable piano.
