Nana Morimoto is a native of Kobe, Japan where, as the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, she pursued a dual major in the study of piano and voice at the Showa College of Music, the Showa School for Performing Arts, and the Japan Opera Society in Tokyo. Ms. Morimoto was privileged to study, train, and work with several opera legends including the famous Japanese tenor, Sakuzo Takada (高田作造) , who himself had trained under Luciano Pavarotti’s voice teacher, Arrigo Pola and concurrently studied opera score with Italian conductor and composer Gaetano Comelli.

As a student in Japan, Ms. Morimoto performed roles from Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne and Così fun tutte, Offenbach’s Mesdames de la Halle, and Rossini’s L’equivoco stravagante. Simultaneously, as a pianist, she performed in numerous operas including Menotti’s The Telephone and Chip & His Dog, Verdi’s Te Deum and Aida, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rustiana, and Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci. In Tokyo, she was former pianist for Japanese Folk Concert with the Silk Road Chorus, the Tokyo Artescenica Opera, and Meiji University Chorus. As the Music Director of Atsugi Children's Chorus, Ms. Morimoto directed several musicals including Snow White and The Sound of Music.

After meeting Maestro Anton Guadagno in Tokyo, Ms. Morimoto relocated to the United States in 1997 to study opera and work with him at the Palm Beach Opera.  As a member of  Palm Beach Opera’s Resident Artist Program she performed in many roles including  I Puritani, Un Ballo in Maschera, Tannhäuser, Tosca, La Boheme, and Alice in Wonderland. Her work as a rehearsal pianist created the opportunity to work with several eminent conductors including Anton Guadagno, Julius Rudel, and Bruno Aprea. Concurrently, she studied opera accompaniment with the esteemed Italian conductor, Massimo Morelli and worked with Carmela Altamura, Licia Albanese, and Anton Coppola in the Altamura Center in New York, the South Florida Opera Company, Miami Lyric Opera, and the Caruso International Competition.   Other accomplishments include working as the back stage conductor and prompter for numerous Palm Beach Opera’s main stage performances.

In addition to her professional stage performances and as an accomplished pianist, Ms. Morimoto has worked with the Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches, numerous South Florida high school choirs, fine arts students, and performed with many south Florida churches.  She has highlighted numerous church concerts with her Oratoria Aria and Sacred Song repertoire including Brahms’ German Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, Handel's Messiah, Dubois's Seven Last Words of Christ, and Bach's Christ lag in Todesbanden, Cantata No.4. On the lighter side, Ms. Morimoto travels and performs with many talented local musicians for “Opera Night & More” Entertainment Concerts at charity events, private parties, country clubs and restaurants in South Florida.

In more recent years renowned soprano, Maestra Virginia Zeani, another one of her teachers, called upon Ms. Morimoto to work with some of her students. With Maestra Zeani’s encouragement, in 2014 Ms. Morimoto opened her own music studio in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Ms, Morimoto is a member of various music organizations such as MTNA, FSMTA, and PBCMTA.
